Energy Southeast, a Cooperative District, has completed a $405.44 million prepaid energy transaction involving long-term supplies of electricity and natural gas for public power participants in Alabama and Florida. The transaction was financed through Energy Southeast’s 2025 Series A Energy Supply Revenue Bonds.
The transaction will provide approximately 30 years of energy supplies for the Alabama Municipal Electric Authority, Florida Municipal Power Agency and Riviera Utilities in Foley, Alabama. Savings generated through the transaction will benefit the participating utilities, their members and the retail customers they serve while supporting reliable and economical utility service.
The transaction further advances Energy Southeast’s efforts to provide public power utilities with access to innovative energy prepayment solutions that can deliver long-term value and lower energy costs.
